Mercon Group was founded nearly 70 years ago and today is a leading vertically integrated coffee supplier providing services to more than 130 clients around the world. We have extensive experience in farming, production, trading, marketing, logistics and risk management in the coffee industry. Our business model is based on a strong supply chain that adds value from the producer to the roaster.

We are strongly committed to the sustainability of the coffee industry to generate long-term value and benefits for everyone in the supply chain. Our vision is to build a better coffee world. We operate responsibly and transparently, and we support 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the United Nations: Goals 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 15, 17. We support the Sustainable Coffee Challenge because we truly believe that industry collaboration is key to achieving our vision to build a better coffee world.

Our Commitments

We are committed to double the number of farmers supported by our LIFT multi-services Program in all our Origins in 2025. The LIFT Program includes capacity building and technical assistance to increase quality and productivity and to improve socio-environmental practices, access to financing and premium markets, community development and farm business management.

We aim to renovate 20 million coffee trees in Nicaragua by 2025.

June 2021

We continue to invest in yields improvements in Nicaragua both via our technical assistance to farmers and via our renovation plan. Renovation continues to be a critical step to unlock the full potential of farm productivity and income and to safeguard Origin diversity by protecting a premium Origin such as Nicaragua.
